HELLO!
This is my blog. The blog that belongs to me. The writer of these words. That you are reading. Now. (According to some definitions of authorship.)
My name is Jed Fazakarley. You may know me from around the “lefty” blogosphere as “democracy_grenade”, or from some other corner of the internet as… something else. The internet, if nothing else, has proven Erving Goffman correct in his suspicion that we all have lots of different-coloured knees.
I am a Masters student in History at York, and will shortly be a doctoral student at Oxford in the same. I also write poetry, prose, prose-poetry and shopping lists. And play bass.
This is a self-consciously “personal” blog, which means that rule one is: THERE ARE NO RULES!!!!! Rule two is: no posts about remit. Wocka-wocka.
This is not my first experience of blogging (blogsperience) so, worry not; you are in capable hands. My previous blog was authored when I was but nineteen years of old. Naturally, now that I have added three more years to my bow, these inane juvenilia fill me with crying. So here we go again, I guess.
The title, for those of you interested, comes from a Charles Bernstein poem. It is quite good.
If you are moved to smiles by what is herein (and I pride myself every day) and WOULD LIKE TO CONTACT ME MORE, then: e-mail; Brave New World-book.
Well, then! Allez-y!
